De Neptunus 129 AK wordt door velen gezien als een toonbeeld van Nederlandse kwalteitsbouw. De tijdloze uitstraling spreekt nog steeds tot de verbeelding en in het bijzonder wanneer deze wordt gecombineerd met moderne techniek. Zo zijn er in 2004 nieuwe motoren geplaats en is er onlangs als aanvulling op de reeds aanwezige boegschroef een hekschroef geplaatst. Tevens is de motoraansturing digitaal gemaakt en is de volledige scheepsaansturing te bedienen via een remote control systeem van Hydronautica. Gelijktijdig met het monteren van de hekschroef in 2019 zijn de accu’s allen vervangen en in 2021 is er een nieuwe buiskap geplaatst
